Why is it, people always tell you what to do and what should you be in near future? For god's sake it's my life and people have their own dreams and aspiration right? There is no one way of doing things? Being a teacher, of course I won't be any other ordinary teacher and being a lecturer is not always the best option. I don't understand why all asking me to be a lecturer? Why do people have to bother so much?
Well, teaching profession might not be what I dreamed of but now I am happy. I am happy to be a future teacher but I just don't understand why teachers themselves look down upon their profession, if you don't like to be a teacher, then why are you still a teacher? Give me a valid reason.
About a week ago i went to a photostat shop to photostat some stuff and I bumped into my secondary school teacher who have always been one of my favourite teacher, very dedicated and friendliest of all. So, as usual the first question would be, what are you doing now? With a proud expression, I said, teacher maam, I want to be like you. Expecting for a positive answer, unfortunately she asked me, aiyaa.. why teacher? You going to regret it for sure. Tiring job. And please, don't just stay in school, take your masters and PHD and be a lecturer. I was like Ooooooook. *dissapointed face*
I mean like, if she don't like to be a teacher then why is she a teacher in the first place and have been teaching for the past 15-20 years? Why? She herself can be a lecturer right? Don't you think its ridiculous how people can advise you so much and tell you what to do when they themselves are not doing it, and worst of all they are teachers! Really sad situation indeed.
